JUNO- Quick and Dirty

Juno

Diabo Cody’s portrayal of a pregnant teen may not go over well for most but her calculable know-it-all sense of humor saves the day. The saving grace of the film is Ellen Page’s easiness with cruelty and wit and Michael Cera’s grasp of the awkward. Despite the fact that Ellen Pages’s character seems to know way more that she should and, frankly, more than a hipster 30year old should know was a bit annoying but her unapologetic humor saved the day. There was a bit lacking in the way of original musical scoring but that is forgivable considering the level of hilarity that Page herself can deliver with what seems to be little effort at all.

Ellen Page is the new indie queen and Michel Cera is the new unsuspecting comedy genius.

Most Memorable Quote: “East Jesus Nowhere”

Next: Pan’s Labyrinth (Yes I know I’m way late on this one.), and Puccini for Beginners. We’ll call this segment late lazy start.
